A DAY IN THE LIFE... FEB 8, 2007
Tried it again as part of the Day in the Life group on Live Journal...
5:30 - Get up and exercise. Mid-February and I haven't broken my New Year's
Resolution yet! Chester practices his piano while I work out.
After breakfast I pack up the car. Laura (my wife) and I are teaching a class on chocolate
making this morning and have to have everything ready!
Quick arm's-length protrait of my wife and I before we
head out the door.
The kids play during the first part of the class. Chester turns off the lights to torment the other three kids while
they're playing a hide-n-go-seek type game (my daughter has the bows). Then Chester pretends he's a CPU
in the computer desk.
After the class, return home for a quick lunch of grilled tuna and cheese and a
Romaine salad. Yummer.
Saturday means I get to play with my kids! While Chester naps, Audrey and I
play Polly Pocket.
During the afternoon, I have to run some errands on the outskirts of Kyiv. When I first moved here, I
expected to live in neighborhoods like this, it was the preconception I had of all Soviet architecture. The
area I live in is actually quite lovely, and sometimes it takes a trip to an area like this to remind me that I
live in a former Soviet country.
A little playing around before bedtime. They look MAH-velous, don't they?
After the kids are in bed, I tackle a pile of ironing. Not really what I want to be
doing on a Saturday night, but it needs to be done. Then, after a quick
Internet check, it's bedtime!
Mmmmm. Chocolate. First you melt it, then pour it into molds, then dump out the excess. After that you fill the
molds, then top off the rest with chocolate. I didn't get any pictures of the end part of the process because I
was teaching, but you can check out my wife's pictures of the chocolates here.
