We had a fun Christmas Eve today. We were able to go out for lunch as a family, take some presents to the missionaries, and
make Kolačky (pronounced KO-lahch-key) a traditional Czech pastry/cookie thing (really just a bit of filling in a piecrust type shell).
Well, the prune ones are traditional (those are on the top), the apricot ones are Koch family specific, and this year Laura and I
branched out and tried making some cranberry ones. They were yummy. We Also made mango ones while we lived in the
Philippines, and they were also a treat.
The tree picture is to show how funny looking our tree is now. The ornaments keep drifting upward as our kids keep getting into
them. Hence, only the top half is decorated, and the bottom is completely bare now. In case you're wondering why they haven't
gotten into the presents, well, it's because the presents weren't there until after they went to bed this evening!
HOWEVER, the biggest news of the day is that my little brother's wife had their baby yesterday! Congratulations to them! My dad
sent me a picture taken with his cell phone. Welcome to the world Claire Avery!!!
